Monster High Themed Birthday!!

After seeing the 6 tiered wedding cake a friend of mine asked if I could make her daughters Birthday Cake the following week, she sends me a picture and with a bit of a gulp I agreed.

I had never seen Monster High before, but I must admit it sure is cute!

I used some Stampin' Up! Dazzling diamonds on the Melon Mambo Bow,
punched out some stars using the Glitter paper that Stampin Up offiers!!
Ya know I must use my Stampin' Up! Supplies with everything I do!!

Found this cute character from the cartoon, printed it off using card stock, and Stephanie colored using Stampin' Up! markers to match the colors of the cake and cut her out, we attached a skewer to her hiney and stuck her on the cake!

They had some many coming to the party, they wanted a few cupcakes.
So I had to decorate them as well, and Shelby helped put the cupcake pics together for me using again our amazing Stampin' Up! supplies!!!

they just turned out so stinking cute!!!
Thank you girls for helping so much, having 2 cakes to deliver on the same day 3 weeks after back surgery was a little more tiring then I would have though! Sure could not have done it with out my wonderful daughters helping me out!

This is just a simple cake that I made the same day.
It was Homecoming Dance night and one of the Cheerleading captains birthday.
Some of the Cheerleaders went out to dinner before the dance, and we brought her a cute little
cake with a birthday sash!
Forgot to take a picture of the sash, but it was super cute and matched her dress!
it was on wide Black Shiny Ribbon, and I cute out Birthday Girl with our silver glitter paper using the Stampin' Up! Big Shot.
Happy 18th Birthday Kristin!!

Wedded Bliss!

A dear Sweet friend/co-worker asked me to make her wedding cake!
She had found it on Matha Stewarts wedding site.
I looked and thought "Oh my that is a cake", but not wanting to disappoint!
I said "Of course I can make this cake for you"!!!  The scroll work on the white tiers is a little different, no as ornate as the cake on Martha's site, but it worked.
Then to complicate things just a tad bit, I ended up having a minor back surgery for a herniated disc just 2 weeks before the wedding. But not wanting to let the bride down, I was thankfully still able to  deliver the cake on time! Thank you to my girls for helping me with the delivery! the cake was a huge success!!
The  Bride & Groom were happy, so there for I was happy.
Success another stressful Wedding Cake delivery done!!!

La~La~Loopsy Cake!!

A sweet friend asked me to make a Birthday cake for her daughter using her favorite doll
La La Loopsy!!
So I did a little research, watched some really cute cartoons, and this is what I came up with!

And it was a fun way to use my 3 tier cake stand!

Just love how the stitched name turned out!

Awwwweee and here is the little bug friend that goes with La La Loopsy!
she was so super cute she deserved her how cake!

And "4" is such a Big Girl age, Airianna deserved her own cake as well!
although they did have so many guests, she didn't really get her own cake.

This past Saturday our Church had it's Annual Ladies Tea!
I was so excited to be a Table Hostess, but then I ended up having to work!
So I went to decorate my table on Friday afternoon, with an Americana Theme!
Every uses their best China or Dishes, and decorates with a theme coordinating with the years theme.

This year was Country Fair , and I just loved picking just the right decorations from my house, which wasnt that hard, considereing I am a "retired Military Wife"!
These are the little table gifts I made for each of the ladies that sat at my table.
I bought little "Dogwood Crosses, and the poem reads
The
Dogwood Cross

Crucified on a cross
Made from a Dogwood tree,
God gave His only son
who died for you and me.

This cross is a reminder of our faith in
God above, and reminds us wherever
we may be
of His never ending love.

Made little boxes and put some chocolates in them for after the lunch.

Happy "39"th Wedding Anniversary!!!!

This is one of my favorite gifts to make for Weddings, Anniversary's, and House warming gifts!

Had the great opportunity to make this for a co-worker this past week.
Funny story...my friend told me how she and her husband were going to a local restaurant to celebrate their anniversary with another couple.  So I think to myself, hmmm why not take this to the restaurant  and surprise her with a gift at dinner! So I go to the restaurant to deliver, they are not there! "drats!!"
So I call, hey what are ya'll doing?  she says they didn't go because her friend was ill, but they will go tomorrow I say O' well I hope you have a great time!
I leave the gift, because they will be going to dinner the next day!
I call another co-worker, and say hey call and see what time they will be going down for dinner...
long story short they never made it to that restaurant  for dinner! I had to go retrieve the gift and just give it to her at work!
But the good news is, her and her husband both loved the gift!!!

this is the card I made for their anniversary, They loved the "R"

Happy Father's Day! Take 3

Cute Card that I made for the Boys to give to their Dad!!
Bradley Loved the saying
" Lucky You"
"...and lucky me for knowing you!"
he wrote the best note in side!! and Stuart just loved it!
Preston loved it as well! thought it was pretty cool.
Stuart and the boys are always building things, fixing stuff,
so this was the perfect style of Father's Day card, I used this once before,
but it seems to be a timeless classic when it comes to Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day with a Tie!!
Cute and simple, just the way the girls like it!

This is the card the girls made for their Daddy!
what a simple, but cute card, took some of our old stampin up ribbon,
and simply tied a knot in it to make it look like a tie!
Too cute! Way to go girls, great idea!!!

"Designs by LaMuir" Happy Father's Day!!

  HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!

We had so much fun creating this project!!!
I was on the hunt for different ideas for Father's Day,
and came across something similar to this.

The Boys "D", kind of flat on the top side,
Bradley being 6'4" is just too tall!

Shelby just laying there, kind of funny!!

The girls making their "D"! They did a really good job,
but they are almost the same height!
  Thank Goodness!!

They are just so grown up now!!!!

We had a great day, just took it easy.
Watched some movies, helped Dad in the garden,
and had a casual dinner!!!!
Happy Father's Day to a Super Awesome DAD!!!!

Shelby still wanting a horse, wanted this cute cake!
What ever you would like Shelby,

Stephanie, just really likes Lady Bugs, and still does today!!

I enjoyed making even the little remote for the car cake!!
Good choice Preston!

drum roll please, and here they all are, what fun!
I love making 4 totally different cakes all at one time!
It is a challenge and a blessing to see the look on each
childs face when they see the cake they picked out come to life!!
I pray this is a wonderful memory for each of my children!!!
Because I know it is a wonderful memory for their mommy!!

Yummy BBQ!!!!

Here in the mountains the winters last a bit longer then what we are use to.
Not long ago, I thought I really am in the mood for some Beef Brisket!
Sooooo Brisket it was for dinner, a good ole' Texas BBQ!
Nice cut of beef, cooked alllllllllll day long, basting throughout the day!

Then right before we serve, we lather it up with some great Thick & Hearty BBQ sauce, that I have so carefully doctored up!!! (its a secret, I cant tell ya)
and then when we are ready to serve, it starts falling apart!

and there is our Shelby!!!!
I think she is happy about the brisket what do you think???

What a Great BBQ right smack dab in the middle of Winter!!!
